Due to the complexities involved in security software unfortunately many kernel-level anti-cheats, including BE, are not compatible with this feature yet. Recently Microsoft has started to ask Windows 11 users to enable this security feature and if they do so it will cause the BE driver to be unable to load. The upshot: AC Black Flag appears to be the earliest game that works with a little legwork (without having to reinstall).When launching the game I get a “Failed to initialize BattlEye Service: Driver Load Error (1275).” error and Windows displays a popup reporting that BEDaisy.sys cannot be loaded on this device due to a security feature called “Hardware-enforced Stack Protection”. So if I want to play either of those I’ll have to re-download them. Still, it showed up in Uplay, so…Īlso did not work for FC3 or FC3 Blood Dragon, grr.
Can’t remember if that game required Uplay (I bought it from Amazon and downloaded the actual game from them, not just a key). More data: Didn’t word for AC Brotherhood for some reason. This time at least there was no Windows component that needed installing, but it appears that the cloud saves (if any) I had for even that were too old (from 2015) for Uplay to have or recognize. So what I did then was find my savegame files that I’d backed up, plop them in the appropriate folder under the “Ubisoft Game Launcher” hierarchy, restart the game and I was off to the races.ĮDIT: I just did that whole process again for FC4. Finally got it to start, and discovered that it would only let me start a new game. Net 3.5 or something so it downloaded that as well. It found it OK, then when I tried to play it, Windows informed me that it needed.
